- Innovation and research: We advance PPM and pipeline management in two ways:
- Pipeline models, metrics and managment: Drug development pipelines are dynamic systems. What managers do in phase I subsequently affects phase II, and phase II's management subsequenlty affects phase III. Pipeline Physics is developing models of drug development pipelines to help executives manage the upstream phases to produce the downstream results they desire.
- Managing uncertainty: Unpredictable environments, forecasting errors, assumptions, limited knowledge, and unknown-unknowns affect drug development. Pipeline Physics helps executives confront uncertainty by increasing flexibility and making robust decisions.
- Education: To help our clients better understand how uncertainty affects pharmaceutical pipelines, we teach frameworks and approaches to decision-making under uncertainty. Often, we help our clients develop intuition and understanding by managing computer simulations of discovery and development.
